2012 Specialty Report:
First off I must apologize for this report being very late, the time between July and December has literally flown by.
Better late than never? I hope so because I am especially proud to report on this year's specialties held during the OKC
Summer Classic held June 28 through July 1, 2012. This year we tried something new, a CONCURRENT specialty. For those who
might not have experienced one, a concurrent specialty allows a specialty to be held during the regular hours of an all-breed
show with the judging of the all-breed classes occurring first. In this way, there are two opportunities to exhibit in one
day within the regular show hours. We received so much positive feedback on this format that I would not be surprised if we
utilized it again. Our club also participated in the Meet the Breeds event held during this cluster each year and we were
thrilled and honored to be chosen Best In Show Breed Booth on Sunday! Our MTB booth has been an ongoing project and I am
very pleased that it has grown into a very effective venue for people to get hands-on information about Bostons. Way to go
I want to thank our very hard working members for helping put this specialty together and for their dedication to our club.
A big thanks also to Dr. Tina Neel for providing us with lovely goody bags that were given to each exhibitor. To Sweepstakes
judges Mrs. Claudia M. Brown and Ms. Jan Jay Reed and regular judges Dr. Jose Luis Payro and Mr. Norman Kenney, thank you for
your time and thoughtful consideration of each entry. Special mention to the folks who put on the OKC Summer Classic shows
and Jack Onofrio Dog Shows for your usual outstanding job and for answering my endless questions about concurrent specialties.
We so appreciate photographer Mr. Pete Melia for his expertise and for giving us photographic memories of our specialties.
And last but certainly not least, thank you exhibitors for bringing your Bostons to Oklahoma City and participating in our
shows. We know with the economy what it is everyone must give careful consideration to where they spend their dog show money
and we appreciate you and hope to see you again!
